    Responsibilities will include carrying out decorative making-good remedial work, minor ground works, the inspection, reporting and correction of minor faults, tiling, grouting and leak investigations. In addition, you will communicate regularly with our office team, contractors and suppliers. You will be the representative of company when working in customers’ homes and it will be your responsibility to ensure that our customers are happy with any repairs carried out. You will also attend weekly departmental meetings and keep all paperwork up to date.

    Ideally, you will have a multi-trade building background and must have some knowledge and understanding of Health and Safety regulations. You should feel comfortable working at height and using ladders safely. Excellent communication skills are essential as is a full driving licence and the ability to work efficiently and effectively without supervision.

    Your responsibilities will be to provide an efficient and effective customer care service, liaising with customers, contractors, site and management teams whilst maintaining effective working relationships.

    Your main duties will include:

    • To liaise with all customers and sub-contractors to establish an excellent after sales/maintenance response to all complaints / queries.
    • To be professional, courteous and punctual in all dealings with customers and our external partners.
    • Ensure all remedial works are monitored and that all relevant work is completed to the required standard within the agreed timescales.
    • Liaise with customers, suppliers, site managers and sub-contractors to ensure that all associated works are carried out at agreed times.
    • Ensure all materials and Labour that is required is available prior to works starting.
    • Ensure the customer care / after sales image by personally contacting customers two weeks after legal completion to ensure the customer is happy and satisfied.
    • Plan and monitor the work of the customer care supervisor in advance to ensure continuation of work.
    • Liaise with Site Managers, Contracts Managers and Construction Director prior to arranging any meetings with customers for the Customer Care Manager.
    • Produce all relevant documentation relating to customer care accurately and in a timely manner.
    • Responsible for updating COINS system in a timely and efficient manner to ensure accuracy of customer database.
    • Responsible for collating / maintaining the 28 day customer care questionnaire.
    • Maintain an efficient, effective filing system.
    • Monitor and report to the Customer Care Manager the performance of the sub-contractors.
    • Report any continually occurring problems encountered by the Customer Care Manager to ensure these can be rectified and the source of the problem identified.
    • Effectively liaise with management, maintenance supervisor, sub-contractors and suppliers to ensure minimum response times to customer care issues.

  • TSR are currently recruiting for a Design Engineer, on behalf of a top 10 UK house builder growth has established themselves as a leading name in the Residential market. You will be responsible for the design and co-ordination of all infrastructure, substructure and groundworks information to enable efficient and cost-effective construction of new housing schemes.  Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for between 4-6 live projects contributing housing numbers set by the company’s annual construction target

     

    Duties:

    • Co-ordinating consultants for road, sewer, external works, private drainage, structural, foundation, pump station and other bespoke designs. Reviewing designs for cost/build issues and marking up drawings to feed back to consultants.   
    • Obtaining technical submission drawing/info packs from consultants for submission to authorities. 
    • Obtaining and evaluating new utility quotes for most cost effective and suitable offers.   
    • Assessing diversion/upgrade works required to existing services that affect the development and obtain costs/timescales for diversions in good time to suit programme. Calling off initial mains installation and attending pre-start meetings with utility companies/organising payments.   
    • Obtaining foundation designs, suspended slab designs, schedules, standard details and relevant information to enable construction. Reviewing all foundation designs for cost/build issues and make comments.   
    • Reviewing site GI reports to identify any protective/remedial measures required. Organise geotech. consultants to carry out testing/site works to clear planning conditions, classify spoil material/waste and remediate ground if required to do so.   
    • Reviewing ecological and arboricultural reports to ensure that protected species and vegetation are dealt with prior to any critical site works starting. Ongoing attendance with specialist consultants as required for certain protected species.   
    • Inspections/adoptions with authorities including fees, attendance of meetings on site with inspectors and contractors, procurement of as-built survey information/manhole cards, street light test certificates, CCTV surveys. Arrange for any remedial works to be carried out and determine whether these are the responsibility of the contractor or DDL.   
    • Organising CCTV/Jetting of existing/newly constructed sewers to ensure they are in good working order while in the maintenance period. Attending site or organising a drainage contractor if customer care issues relating to drainage are reported.

     

    Skills:

    You must be a highly organised individual with good problem-solving abilities and strong communication skills.  You will ideally enjoy working in a fast paced, team environment and be able to respond quickly to technical queries and evolving project brief

    TSR are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor for a top 10 UK Housebuilding company. The main purpose of the role is to produce, manage and forecast build costs for allotted sites. Procure all necessary subcontract trades and manage the payment process and subsequent contractual obligations. Work in partnership with all other departments to achieve company objectives.

     

    Role duties:

    • Production of site start budgets, prior to commencement of multiple new House Builds.
    • Procure all subcontract trades involving other key members of the team ensuring best value is obtained and all subcontractor prequalification criteria have been satisfied.
    • Manage the payment process for subcontractors and help the other members of the payments team to ensure payments are made in accordance with the agreed payment terms.
    • Evaluate and if appropriate, approve payments of Dayworks and applications for both labour only subcontractors.
    • In accordance with the prescribed timetable, review and agree monthly site valuations, including cost to complete assessments using the approved system.
    • Attendance at management team/department meetings at various locations which may be outside of the usual workplace.
    • In conjunction with the Build Manager, host regular meetings with subcontractors to review performance.
    • Management of agreed performance indicators including regular updates to the Group Commercial Director/Regional Director.
    • Attend training and development events as required.
    • Chair monthly meetings
    • Any other duties reasonably requested.

     

    Successful candidates will possess the following skills and attributes:

    • Previous experience similar house building role is essential
    • A good understanding of all aspects of surveying and contractual procedures
    • Strong personal organisational skills.

    You will be part of the Pre-Development Team which includes: land, architecture (delivering four separate functions: land bids, planning applications, NHBC type approved house packages, marketing visuals), engineering and estimating. You must be able to produce architectural information required for planning application packages and model site layouts in a 3D Revit environment.   • TSR are recruiting on behalf of a top new build housing developer who has an existing opportunity for an individual who has recently completed an apprenticeship or college course in the fields of either construction, planning or quantity surveying. An opportunity to join an established land department. This is a varied role, with a primary focus on assisting/facilitating the group ‘bid audit’ function including carrying out road and area ‘take offs’ and checking cost and value inputs.

    The role also includes other ad-hoc land and planning duties to support the department. The role is expected to provide progression opportunities in the fields of land buying and planning for the right applicant in due course.

     

    Main Responsibilities:

     

    To facilitate the land ‘bid audit’ process, including:

    • “Taking off” roads and areas.
    • Checking cost and value inputs put forward in appraisal.
