TSR are currently recruiting for a Technical Inspector on behalf of a new build housing developer in Stratford to undertake inspections of latent defects and identify potential causes and liability in terms of selection of materials, workmanship and / or design. Working with Consultants and Specialist Contractors to specify, schedule and manage the implementation of the remedial work required to resolve latent defects in accordance with the relevant construction contract requirements and warranty cover.
To liaise with colleagues across the business when they have identified a potential latent defect claim in accordance with the clients Defect Policy and Procedure.
To liaise with Consultants and Specialist Contractors in determining the cause and liability for latent defects in order to reach a quick resolution with minimal exposure to costs for the client
To provide the Quality Manager with regular progress updates on individual latent defects claims and advise on issues that are preventing satisfactory resolution.
To work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to ensure relevant information and advice is provided so that they are able to keep customers informed on progress where latent defects affect their homes.
To proactively contribute to personal awareness of industry development and standards to ensure up to date knowledge within the areas of own responsibility.
Ensure that all projects and tasks are delivered in accordance with the Trusts values and highest level of customer service at all times.
At all times carry out all duties with due regard to Health & Safety Legislation and policy.
Ability to deal with a wide range of customers within their homes and explain construction related matters using language that is easily understood
Able to be available to work occasional evenings or at weekends if required to visit customers in their homes
Significant experience within house building, building surveying or construction
Able to demonstrate building pathology skills within a ‘client side’ environment
Good understanding of NHBC Standards and of their Buildmark Cover
Highly developed organisational skills. Able to demonstrate delivery in demanding customer faced environment
Building Surveying qualification to degree level or equivalent
