Mechanical Estimator

Position: Mechanical Estimator

Location: Dewsbury

Salary: £55k negotiable DOE

TSR are looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join a design & build M&E contractor based in Dewsbury, serving clients and projects in Yorkshire and throughout the UK. Our client covers all mechanical and electrical services requirements offering a complete service from design, installation and ongoing maintenance.

Our client carries out works for a wide and diverse portfolio and client base ranging from commercial and public buildings - schools, universities, industrial units etc. with the majority of their work being either repeat business or recommendations.

Project Values rage between £50k - £3million

Duties for the Mechanical Estimator

  • Sending out to suppliers and sub-contractors and speaking with them throughout the tender
  • Tender pricing respond to tender queries, prepare and submit competitive tender packages and quotations in accordance with the clients' requirements
  • Producing RFI schedule to the client for anything that is missing or unclear
  • Do take offs from drawings provided and input into the estimation software
  • Fill out pricing document, clarification letters and any other document that the client has asked for.
  • Go through settlement process with directors to finalise margin percentages

Office Administration

Position: Temp - Perm Part Time Office Administrator

Salary: > £12.50ph

Location: Manchester

TSR are looking for a part time Office Administrator to join an Electrical contractor based in the M17 area of Manchester.

Main duties for the Office Administrator to include:

  • Inputting staff timesheets on the companies program – training will be given
  • Inputting Subcontractor timesheets with purchase orders and sending to relevant Agency and Purchase Ledger.
  • Placing Orders on sub-contractors and suppliers
  • General office duties include raising invoices, purchase orders and answering the office phone.
  • Working Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays with cover over the holiday periods needed (full time)

Office Administrator needs:

  • Must have own transport – public transport to the office is not reliable
  • Computer literate.
  • Basic Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Office.
  • Flexibility to cover extra hours due to holidays.
  • Must like dogs
  • Be able to work 8 hour days

TSR are looking a Design Manager to work with a Design & Build M&E Contractor based in Leicester.

Our client covers a range of commercial installation & maintenance projects (schools, universities, care homes, distribution warehouses) across the Midlands, with values ranging between £100k - £1 million.

The skills for the Design Manager:

  • Experience of working on a variety of Ventilation and Drainage projects in the Commercial field
  • Proficient in AutoCAD however, the client is happy to work around the candidates preferred software if needed
  • Competent in the use of Microsoft word excel for producing documentation, reports, drawing registers and materials
  • Capable of understanding design calculation and report
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Experience in interpretation of engineering and quality specifications and scopes
  • Proven experience in similar role (min 5 years)
  • Preferably Apprentice trained in engineering trade

Electrical Project Manager

Position: Electrical Project Manager

Location: Nottingham

Salary: IRO £45k

TSR are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Project Manager with experience in Estimating on behalf of a family-run Electrical Contractor based in Nottingham.

All projects are commercial, schools, universities, offices, warehouses etc with a mixture of both refurbs and new build projects.

Project values range between £15,000 and £500,000

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing electrical projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

A good understanding of all types of commercial electrical installations is required, with the ability to manage site-based staff, the procurement of materials through to the handover of the project.

The chosen applicant is expected to have basic to good IT skills in the way of the ability to communicate through email, be able to use MS Office (basic), read and understand architectural/ technical drawings plus being able to communicate with clients and organise on site staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage electrical projects from initial planning to final delivery, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.
  • Write RAMS
  • Liaise with clients & contractors to ensure clear communication and a collaborative approach to project delivery.
  • Conduct site visits and surveys to ensure that electrical installations comply with current regulations and standards.
  • Create project plans and schedules, and monitor progress against these plans, providing regular updates to senior management.
  • Manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are kept within budget and that any variations are approved in advance.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, ensuring that they are delivered on time and to the required specification.
  • Manage project teams, including external contractors and suppliers, ensuring that all work is carried out to the required quality standards.
  • Provide technical expertise and support to project teams, ensuring that all electrical installations meet the required standards.

Experience and Certifications required:

  • Minimum experience of 2 years in Electrical Project Management, with further prior experience in the electrical trade.
  • Have experience in Estimating and Quantity Surveying in previous roles
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Manager, with a track record of successfully delivering electrical projects on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of relevant electrical regulations and standards, including BS 7671.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage project teams.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with clients, contractors and project stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Driving licence required.

Salary is negotiable depending on experience but paying up to £55,000

The role

As the Electrical Project Manager, you will ensure the projects are running accordingly with the installation and specification requirements whilst ensuring compliance with specification and contract documentation.

As the Electrical Project Manager you will have the following duties and responsibilities: ·

  • Review the design, specifications and tech subs
  • Write the RAMS
  • Write the project programme
  • Send out material, plant and subcontractor enquiries
  • Organise labour
  • Carry out H&S inspections
  • Set out commissioning programmes and activities with the specialists
  • Carry out Progress Reports
  • Compile O&M and hand over documents
  • Manage the commissioning and handover process
  • Attend meetings with Principal Contractors, Consultants etc.
  • Planning to make sure the projects completed are profitable.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working within the Commercial industry

Candidates must have strong Electrical Building Services knowledge and be able to get a design and run jobs from start to finish.
